Help us win this $1000 Grant for the Walker Mural project!!
Our mural project has been chosen as one of the 10 projects that is up for the $1,000 Tom Tom Fest “Crowd Funded Pitch Night” grant event taking place at The Gleason THIS Thursday, 5/3 at 7:00 pm. 100 people can buy entry into the event for $10/ticket (to raise the $1,000 of grant money) and those 100 people will hear all 10 ideas then vote for the project that should receive the funds. We need as many Walker families as possible to buy tickets in advanc(http://www.eventbrite.com/event/3412746617) and attend this event to support our project!

May 16th Walker PTO Meet & Greet with Mr. Bock–6:30 Walker Cafeteria
Mr. Bock, the new Walker Principal, will be in attendance to introduce himself. It is the perfect time for incoming families to ask any lingering questions about transitioning into Walker and to sign up to be part of the Walker PTO next year. It is also a great night for current Walker parents to meet Mr. Bock and ask any pressing questions before the end of the school year. Questions, etc.? Many thanks to all of the families who sent in donations for the raffle baskets, silent auction, and cake walk! Your generosity and creativity were much appreciated. The baskets were full of all kinds of fun items, and they proved to be very popular. Congratulations again to the six lucky raffle winners, to all who bid on the silent auction and everyone who walked home with a cake!

Walker Community Night • Tuesday, March 13th • 6:00-8:00pm
EVENING AGENDA and DETAILS
6:00 – Orchestra in the auditorium
6:20 – Families will begin dinner in the cafeteria
6:30 – The jazz band will begin to perform during dinner
6:00-7:30 – Silent Auction (final bids closing at 7:30 pm)
6:00-7:30 – PTO t-shirt sales, bake sale and Mural Project Information table
6:45-7:15 – Cake walk will take place upstairs in the science lab (please drop cake donations off Tuesday in Science Lab)
7:15-8:15 – Open mic will take place in the library
@7:30 We will have an intermission ending the auction and announcing winners
If parents/families bring a canned food item, potluck dish or cake they will get food tickets, otherwise it is $1.00 person for dinner.

Please send in a raffle item or two to support your child’s Tri/Quad Raffle Basket if you are able — all donations, both small and large, will be much appreciated! We’re soliciting donations through Friday, March 9. The themes and point teachers are as follows:
5th Grade triads:
- Team Australia: Basket theme is Family Movie Night; give donations to Ms. Raulerson
- Team Jamaica: Basket theme is Picnic; give donations to Mr. Craft
- Team Ireland: Basket theme is Summer Fun; give donations to Ms. Smith
- Team France: Basket theme is Sports; give donations to Ms. Woodworth
- Team Canada: Basket theme is Books and Music; give donations to Ms. Gaylord
6th Grade quads:

Parent University for families of 6th graders!
Walker Families of 6th Grade Students!!!! Please attend Parent University, Feb 8th, 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm @ Buford Middle School Auditorium. For parents of 7th graders, a speaker will address the unique qualities of middle school students AND for parents of 6th graders, Mr. Johnson will discuss the Buford experience and answer questions.
